- What does the Deal Score measure?
- How attractive the asking price looks compared with our estimated market value and with similar cars listed now. It measures apparent price attractiveness. It is not a resale-profit estimate and it does not tell you anything about the car's condition.
- Where does the estimated market value come from?
- From similar listings we tracked until they were marked sold, using their last observed asking price. We don't see final negotiated sale prices, so treat the estimate as a guide rather than a valuation.
- Does Car Deal Alert check a car's condition?
- No. Risk indicators are based on what the seller discloses in the listing, such as no RWC, sold as-is or mechanical issues. Always arrange an inspection and a PPSR check before you buy.
- Which listings do you cover?
- Selected Carsales and Facebook Marketplace listings in Victoria, currently focused on cars up to $8,000. We don't capture all listings on those marketplaces.
- How quickly will I hear about new listings?
- We check marketplaces on a schedule, so there is a delay between a listing going live and us picking it up. On Pro and during your trial, matching listings are emailed once we've picked them up. On Free, you get a daily digest at 8pm Melbourne time covering listings first seen two to three days earlier.
- How does the free trial work?
